When I saw the pregnancy results and it was positive, tears fell in my eyes and I don't know what to do. I cannot imagine how my parents would feel and react if they knew I was pregnant. All I felt at the moment is fear. The fear that my parents will disown me and hate me, and the fear that my future is at stake. I just graduated from college and got my first job, and ended up being pregnant out of wedlock. I thought it was the end and I will not forward will my life and career.
But that thought of mine was answered by a surprising response. When I told my parents, they accepted me and forgive me for my wrong decisions. It was a rough start for us (with my husband) to start a new family and provide for our daily needs, while also pursuing our own careers. In the end, the mess that we have can be a great message of hope, perseverance, and great faith. We can maneuver change in our lives if we are committed to it.
Just like how Moses was able to change and step out of his comfort zone in leading the people of Israel out of Egypt. In Exodus 4:10 (NIV), Moses said to the LORD, "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue." But even with hesitation Moses continue his mission and let Aaron be his voice to Pharaoh and they successfully led the Israelites for their freedom from slavery in Egypt.
In Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV), Moses said to the people of Israel: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Indeed, strong faith and trust in the Lord is our core foundation to change the old and become our new selves in Him. Remember the words from 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!".
