There is a current famous South Korean Netflix action-drama series on Netflix entitled: "Teach you a lesson". This is set in a world where school violence and bullying have reached alarming levels. The government creates a special agency called the Educational Rights Protection Bureau (ERPB) to restore order in troubled schools through unconventional methods. Led by the fearless inspector Na Hwa-jin, the team investigates cases of bullying, corruption, and abuse that school authorities fail to address. As they confront powerful students, negligent educators, and influential parents, they challenge a broken educational system while protecting vulnerable victims. The series combines intense action, social commentary, and moral dilemmas as it explores justice, discipline, and the limits of authority in schools.
What can we learn from this series? Because of the abuse of some powerful students, there is no respect and order in the schools anymore. This series is a great reminder thats students should show respect and courtesy to their teachers and parents.
In Luke 6:39-40, it says “Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit? The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher."
The scripture clearly says that teacher is above the students. The teacher should model good character and discipline the students if they are wrong. The teacher should let the student realize that there is always consequences from their actions. They should accept the consequences if they have done wrong actions. Students should be accountable for their actions. However, teachers should also acknowledge their faults and admit their mistakes. Children should always be guided by the parents and listen to advices.
As one of the famous line of the series from Inspector Na Hwa-jin says: "If we are afraid of children then the world is doomed." Let's not wait for a world where there is violence and chaos brought by students. The teachers should protect the vulnerable and teach a lesson to those who are abusive. Lets help in teaching them a lesson one day at a time.
