District 75 Offcers Training Session 2

Key Outcomes

The session covered strategic leadership thinking, division/area team structures, conflict management, the Toastmasters dashboard, and district administration. Leaders were equipped with frameworks for prioritization, club visits, brand compliance, and key operational deadlines for the 2026–2027 term. The district's goal for the coming term is to achieve President's Distinguished District status.

Decisions Made

  • Strategic priority framework (STAR): Leaders should Scan the environment, set a Target, Allocate resources intentionally, and Review meaningful metrics monthly. 1
  • Lead measures must be both influential and controllable (e.g., no last-minute meeting cancellations, every member invites a guest) — not just outcome targets like "20 members." 2
  • Division/Area Council meetings should be predictable and consistent (e.g., first Monday of every month) and mandatory for all officers. 3
  • Clubs and divisions cannot create their own logos, themes, or taglines; the only exception is the district convention. 4

Key Frameworks Shared

Strategic Thinking (D75 Trainer Rainier):
  • Stop non-value-adding activities (e.g., standalone events that generate attendance but don't convert members, excessive merchandise purchases). 5
  • Assign a named owner to every activity — avoid single-person overload. 6
Division Leadership (DTM Kulai):
  • Leadership = Character + Competence → leads to trust. 7
  • Four Disciplines of Execution: Wildly Important Goal → Lead Measures → Scoreboard → Cadence of Accountability. 8
  • Conflict framework: Move from Red Zone (I'm not OK / You're not OK) through Yellow Zone to Green Zone (mutual OK). 9
  • Conversation technique: ABC — Acknowledge, Bridge, Communicate. 10
  • Mindset shift: transition from leader with an answer to leader with a question. 11
Area Director Role (DTM Nino):
  • ADs serve as direct liaisons between district and clubs; conduct minimum 2 club visits/year (Round 1: July–November; Round 2: December–May). 12
  • Submit club visit reports promptly — do not batch-submit near deadlines. 13
  • Pass documented club nuances and sensitive member notes to the next AD during transition. 14

Dashboard & Tools (CGD Ian Cortes)

  • District Central provides: leads/prospective clubs, district awards history, Distinguished Performance Report, and membership reports. 15
  • District 75 current status: 155 paid clubs, ~5,918 member payments (needs 6,493 for Distinguished District). 1617
  • Secret tip: Clubs formed by September or October count as 3 member payments (vs. 2 for later formations). 18
  • A simplified new global dashboard is available (still in development but publicly accessible). 19

Admin & PR Reminders

Admin Manager (TM Dolly Santos):
  • Google Calendar with color-coded events (blue), deadlines (red), celebrations (purple) — PM Dolly your email for access. 20
  • District Executive Committee = District Director down to Area Directors; District Council adds Club Presidents and VP Educations. 21
PR Manager (TM Karen Lim Yu):
  • Brand voice: positive, upbeat, enthusiastic, serious when necessary, open; primary colors are Loyal Blue and True Maroon. 2223
  • AI-generated content is permitted but must be reviewed for accuracy and brand compliance. 24
  • Upcoming initiatives: Newsletter (target release July 15), Podcast "Toast for You," and a "What's in Your Drafts" unsent letters feature. 252627
