Have you experienced given a leadership position at a young age? Have you doubted your knowledge and skills for the job?
In 2017, I was designated as the OIC Dean of our college. It was an abrupt assignment since our current dean will start his doctoral study leave. There was no one willing and able to lead. I was just 5 years in the university and our senior faculty recently retired. We were instructor's level at the time. The position is usually held by professorial level faculty. In terms of experience and qualification, I am not worthy of the position. However, my colleagues and the administration gave their trust to me. I was given the responsibility because they believe in me despite my young age of 29.
Just like Paul, he trusted Timothy and encourage him that he can lead the church despite his young age. In 1 Timothy 4:12, Paul says:
"Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe."
How can we put our trust in the Lord that He can guide us in leading? It's not easy but with His words from the scripture it will give us wisdom and knowledge to to do things according to His teachings.
