His WORD never fails

People make promises and when they break them, we lose trust in them and will no longer believe them next time they make a statement.  Often, we experience these issues with our family, friends, and co-workers.  Humans are not perfect, we tend to utter words we don't mean and end up being trustworthy to other people. With the nature of the people we encounter daily, who can we trust now?

People fail but God never will. Luke 1:37 says "For the word of God will never fail." Clearly, this verse emphasizes the omnipotence of God, that He never fails, for His will and promise will be done.  We should give our 100% to God and release all doubts and worries. He is the only one who is faithful and trustworthy. Why should we believe others who fail us? Let's focus on the promises of God and always dwell on His words for it will never fail.

Remember to keep God's WORD daily, for it will never fail.

Blessed

Have you experienced being judged, mocked, and gossiped by people around you? Did you feel alone and no one was there to support you? When we have this dilemma, we are emotionally weak and we need support.

Do not worry for as long as Jesus Christ is present in your life, everything will be okay. In Matthew 5:10, Jesus Christ assures us, "Blessed are those who are persecuted of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." This verse reminds us to be confident in walking the Christian life even if others are unhappy about it and do not believe in anything you say. It's fine because we do not need to please people, we only need to please God in our lives. How? By studying and living His word in our daily lives.

We are BLESSED, we should never be afraid of persecution, for we are present in the kingdom of heaven.

Endurance

Problems and other adversities make us worried and sad. Of course, that is our natural reaction because we are humans and we are afraid of difficult challenges in life. However, this is just the norm in worldly things and this is totally opposite if we have God in our lives.

In Romans 5:3-5 (NIV), Paul wrote a letter, that says, "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character and hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has given us."

Paul reminded us to be joyful in suffering and always remember that God is always present at the lowest point in our lives. God will never leave us and forsake us. He emphasized that trials will make us stronger and more faithful to God. So, instead of worrying and not trusting God's divine intervention, let us always pray and submit to Him all our worries and cares, because He cares about us always.

Let's just think about trials as an exercise of our muscle of faith. Every time we face problems, our muscles are formed and nurtured to gain strength and we can carry heavier weights in the future.  Trials give us endurance, and this will strengthen our faith in God and our Christ-like character.

Trials in life give us ENDURANCE to make our faith stronger and better every day...

Repent

Are we afraid to admit our mistakes? Or we don't want to be embarrassed and accountable for our wrongdoings because of our pride? It takes maturity and a sense of humility to accept mistakes, ask for forgiveness, learn a lesson, and move forward.  How far are you in admitting your mistakes?

In Acts 3:19, Paul says "Now repent of your sins and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped away. Paul emphasized in this verse that we can start a new life with Christ in our lives, by admitting all our past sins and moving forward to a path of righteousness. He highlighted the word "wiped away", which means that there are no records of wrongs anymore because all of those things are erased and are all forgiven, if you accept Lord Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Saviour, and repent all your sins.

Indeed, we are fortunate to have a merciful God. Who is willing to accept us anytime, when we are ready to repent our sins and commit our life to Him. There is no perfect time or day for this, and sometimes this is not planned. But, whatever day and time that you are ready to admit your mistakes, God will accept us wholeheartedly, He is always waiting for us to come to Him.

When we REPENT we commit to have a transformation in our lives...

Seek God First

Is your life in a limbo? Are you in the wrong direction? How can you focus and traverse the right path?

Jesus said to his disciples in Matthew 6:33 (NIV), " But seek first his Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well ." To walk the right path, we must prioritize learning more about God and his teachings.  Put God first in our lives, and everything will follow.

Always remember to SEEK God...

Emphatically, the Lord's

Temptations

Is it hard to control yourself against temptations? How can you guard your heart and mind in committing sin?

In Corinthians 10:13, Paul says, "God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand."

We can bear all world temptations if we know what matters most. If we put God at the center of lives, then we can focus on Godly things. God will give us the strenght to endure temptations and empower us to focus on Christ-like manners.

How can we exercise this? First, we need to be fully equipped with the word of God. Next, practice the teachings from the bible. Finally, be consistent in reading, meditating and praying to God everyday. We should stick to our routine so we will not fall out and be out of control from wordly temptations.

Be consistent. Be active. Stay focus. We can stand any temptation because God is faithful.

Doubt

Have you shared the gospel with non-believers? There will be people who will doubt you and will ignore you. But don't lose hope; continue to share the gospel.  In Jude 1:22, he says, "Be merciful to those who doubt."

As Christians, we must share the gospel and make disciples. Despite the hesitations and doubts of those who hear the word of God, we should be patient and understanding and go on with our mission. We should be encouraged to continue the mission.

We should not doubt ourselves if we are called to show mercy to those questioning us. We should consistently share the gospel and commit to equipping ourselves by reading the bible daily.

Believe

"To see is to believe!" Most people say and do this before they are convinced that you are telling the truth. They want you to show tangible evidence before they will believe you. Can we believe in something that we don't see and experience? How can we eliminate doubts plaguing our minds and interrupting our beliefs?

Whenever we hear gossip from our neighbors, we ask, "Is that true? I will not believe it until I see it". But what if we don't need physical evidence because word of mouth and testimonies are enough. This is how the words from the bible are God-breath and with guidance from the Holy Spirit. So, everything written is accurate and meant to inspire and guide us in living our lives.

If others have seen and experienced it and you don't, will it make a difference if you are the one who bears witness? In John 20:29, Jesus said to Thomas, "Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see and yet believed." In this verse, Thomas does not believe his fellow disciples that they saw Jesus alive, and he further wants proof to see the exact wounds in his hands. When Thomas saw Jesus, he realized his doubts were not valid. He knelt down and asked forgiveness and glorified Jesus.  Even though Thomas doubted at first, he humbled himself, accepted his wrong doubts, and ended up sharing the gospel with the nations.

Most of us are like Thomas. We doubt and ask for more proof to prove the existence of something. But being a Christian does not need evidence because all divine wisdom and knowledge are written in the bible by disciples and followers of Christ. Their words are God-breathe, and the Holy Spirit guided them to write every word in the scripture. They are witness to the miracles of God, and we are lucky that we can read them after thousands of years have begun.

Let us BELIEVE and not doubt God's promise and teachings...

Give

Do you give out of love or out of obligation? Our resources are limited, and we work hard to earn a living and pay our bills. Frequently, it's hard to donate and give something if we are also in need. How can we have a heart to give without expecting anything in return?

As a working mom, I always budget my salary and see that I have allocated money for specific items. So, I am a checklist mom.  I love to list all my possible expenses and know that I did not forget something. If there are unexpected expenses or someone needs urgent money, I am hesitant to give because I am on a budget myself, and it will be ruined if I give a portion of it to things that are not listed. However, I realized that every person has different circumstances, and you may be well-off than me. If ever I am on a budget and someone needs money, especially if my mom and dad ask for it, I will find ways to have money to give them. If God has assigned you to become a channel of blessings for others, then it's an opportunity for you to give without hesitation.

In  2 Corinthians 9:7, it says:

"Each of you should give what you have decided to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

When we give, it should be from the heart and with gladness. Giving without worrying about losing money to someone is a great feeling. Because you are not losing your money, you're gaining something while giving; generosity is what you gain by giving favor to those in need.

Spirit

Are you disconnected from family or friends? Don't know where you are going? Worry no more because the Holy Spirit will guide your life.

In Galatians 5:16 NIV, it says:
[16] So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
https://bible.com/bible/111/gal.5.16.NIV

Walking with the spirit means embodying a Christ-like attitude and avoiding the desires of the flesh. The fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Meanwhile, the flesh desires are envy, hate, lust, gossip, selfishness, and greed. Hence, the scripture reminds us to walk by the spirit every day and avoid or neglect the desires of the flesh.

SPIRIT is sometimes described as...

Responding
In
Temptations

SPIRIT has a purpose...

Let's have our SPIRIT in action...

Submit to the Lord all of your desire
Pray with all your heart, and do not retire
Instill the word of God
Reflect, even if it's odd
Immerse yourself spiritually
Teach others gradually

Plans

How many plans do you have? Do you have a plan for a trip? A career shift? Buying a new house or car? Save money for education?  We have dozens of plans, but sometimes it's difficult to accomplish them all.

Do we ask God to guide us in this work when we plan? Or do you just ignore His signs? Clearly, the bible is very straightforward in reminding us how to prepare. Proverbs 16:9 NIV says: "[9] In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps."

It is clear that when we plan, we should commit to God for all our work, for He will establish our plans. Pray and always ask for guidance when you plan. If the results of your plans are not according to your expectations, it's okay because it's God's plan, and He has a purpose.

I experienced a lot of job application rejections before I got my job at a state university. I had 7 scholarship rejections before being accepted for my last 8th PhD scholarship application. Every rejection and failure is part of God's plan. So keep hope. Keep moving forward in accomplishing your plans.

Joy in trials

Do you easily give up when faced with trials? Have you lost hope and never persevered in your plans?

Every time we encounter problems of any kind, let us not think that it will make us down. Instead, let us picture it positively. Just like wanting a muscular body, we must endure the pain of exercise and sacrifice to have a healthy diet. But despite the hardship of getting in shape, the result is a perfectly healthy body.

In James 1:2-3 NIV, it says:
[2] Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, [3] because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

https://bible.com/bible/111/jas.1.2-3.NIV

We don't need to worry when we encounter problems. Instead, we should be happy because its part of God's training to strengthen us. God gave us more strength to endure future trials and strengthen our faith and trust in Him.

Solutions

Sometimes, when we have problems, we try to focus on them and spend too much time worrying. Let's be affirmative in responding to different challenges in life. Instead of being sad, let's divert that energy to be excited about finding solutions and developing various strategies to solve our problems. Whether it's about catching a deadline, a project that needs to be done, or a financial obstacle that needs to be solved. We can think about solutions and not worry about the adverse outcomes. We can do it because God is always on our side.

Let me end this devotional with a poem...

Trials

Challenges are always present.
We are on our knees, bent.
Can we stand up?
Can we not give up?

Have faith in God
Trials are not odd
Heads held up high
Deep breath and sigh

Trials produce perseverance
Makes us stronger by any chance
We are given strength to face it
So don't hesitate to solve it
