Be Light, Bring Light!

In a world full of negativities, it's really a challenge for us Christians to be a source of hope to people who needs light in their dark life.  Are you willing to step out of your comfort zone and equip yourself to BE THE LIGHT and BRING LIGHT to the world!

The first verse and final verses of the Bible have a consistent message about how God is the light. 

In Genesis 1:3 (ESV): "And God said, let there be light and there was light." 

While Revelations 22:5 (ESV) says: "And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever."  

There are other significant verses in the Bible that reveals how the Lord our God is our Light in the darkness.

"For it is you who light my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness." - Psalm 18:28 (ESV)

"For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light." - Psalm 36:9 (ESV)

"Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me, let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling." - Psalm 43:3 (ESV)

"Again Jesus spoke to them saying. I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." - John 8:12 (ESV)

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden."- Matthew 5:14 (ESV)

"..for at one time, you were darkness, but now you're light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. -Ephesians 5: 8 (ESV)

"Because if you confess with your mouth that JESUS IS LORD and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9 (ESV)

It is clear that God comes to dispel darkness and lead us to the light, to be that light and bring that light to shine in our dark paths in the world. Right now, there are a lot of problems in the world: war, famine, Christian prosecution (online and offline), online hate, deterioration of morality, social media addiction, drugs, pandemic, climate change, natural calamities, bankruptcy, corruption, political turmoil, terrorism, criminality,  and the list goes on and on. Every day we hear bad news and the media is producing content that promotes sinful acts that encourage our young people to do violent things, commit suicide, and kill other people. We live in the world today with no moral values anymore and no fear of God. 

How can we be that light, to dispel this darkness in the world?

We can do our part, as Christians, accept that JESUS IS LORD, our savior, repent and follow Him. Read the bible, understand the teachings of God, reflect on your past experiences, interpret them,  analyze, find valuable lessons and apply them in your daily life.  Share the gospel with your family, colleagues, and community. If every one of us will work together, we can help dispel the darkness in our nation and the world, one person saved at a time. 

Nothing is impossible! Be faithful! Be fruitful and multiply!
